Refurbishment of Flat in Maida Vale , London. Project Value 250k. The penthouse of a grade II listed Edwardian Villa in Westminster , off Hamilton Terrace , proved a challenge to create a contemporary living space. Over the years the property suffered from numerous poorly planned and built alterations. Working closely with the client , a professional couple, the interior is wholly tailored. Structural works were needed together with a complete re-wire. Mechanical services were also updated. Visual links are achieved through the use of color , materials , lighting and textures. Details such as door handles and the lighting work closely in some spaces to add a luxurious atmosphere to the apartment. Low energy lighting and new energy efficient appliances are included in the scheme. A full AV fit out was also carried out. Sound attenuation was included. Various bespoke components were brought to site pre-made ready for installation. This ensured minimum disruption to the occupiers of the whole building.
